New look alert! This is going to be a quick post detailing this look that I wore to shoot content for my brand. If you do not know by now, I launched my brand last week on my birthday and the response that I got has been amazing. I was really nervous to release my first collection because I truly thought no one would buy the sunglasses and now half of my inventory is gone! So thank you to anyone who made a purchase and I cannot wait to provide more products.

In this look, I am wearing the shades called "Liyah," inspired by the beautiful Aaliyah who is no longer with us. Aaliyah is my biggest fashion inspiration––with Rihanna coming in very close at second–– because she set trends before trends were even a big thing. Today, we see celebrities like Kim Kardashian setting mainstream trends that everyone gets on board with even if the trend is hideous (I will never forgive the public for allowing snakeskin EVERYTHING to become a trend). Aaliyah set trends when she was not even trying to; I would highly recommend watching here old interview videos of when she would go for a style fitting with her favorite designers to see what I am talking about. She also set trends that have taken over the fashion and beauty industry today. Aaliyah was confident yet so humble, which are two traits that are rare to see in people. While I could go on about how much of an inspiration Aaliyah is to me, the point of this post is to talk about the outfit so let's get into the details.

I am wearing an Aaliyah tee that I got from Urban Outfitters, the best place to get vintage hip-hop/band tees for a pretty good price. Some online sites that make these t-shirts sell them at higher prices, but I got this t-shirt for about $17 which is better than $36 + international shipping. I pair this tee with black biker shorts from PLT, to create a comfy streetwear-inspired look.
I not only accessorize with a pair of sunglasses but also a black handbag with gold accents, a holographic durag I got for cheap at Aliexpress, and plenty of gold jewelry.

Be sure to shop for my brand's latest products here! I will be adding jewelry in the next few weeks for my ladies and theydies who like to keep themselves icy!
